Polar Express

Nolan and I took the kids over to Hood River to ride the Polar Express train. The night before we left, we had dinner and let them open their new jammies and bathrobes. Then we watched the movie. We left the next day after school and drove 2.5 hours to get to the depot. The train departed at 5, and headed for "the north pole". We had hot cocoa and cookies and sang carols. Once we got there we saw Santa in front of his "gingerbread house". He got on the train and made his way through all the cars, taking time with each kid to say hello, have a picture taken and hear what they wanted for christmas. Calvin actually let Santa hold him, so they must be closer than I suspect because Calvin does not like strangers. Wyatt posed in front of Santa, then thought it would probably be okay to sit on his lap. Rylee only allowed Santa to sit in the seat next to her, where they had a long discussion about a special something called a Pinkie Pie Pony. She's pretty sure she's getting one. (and she's right).
